Mr. Van Putten
Mr. Van Putten is our Chaplaincy Leader at St. Joseph’s, offering a ministry of presence to staff, students and their families. He is available to listen, provide spiritual direction, and support in times of trouble, loss and grief. If you have questions about faith, spirituality, or are simply looking for a friendly and compassionate ear to discuss whatever’s concerning you, Mr. Van Putten is there to help and his door is always open.
Students in the Panthers United Youth Group organize events such as food drives for the St. Vincent de Paul Society; C.A.S. activities, volunteering at the Soup Kitchen at the Agape Centre to name a few. We meet at lunch hour every Wednesday in room 208 where all students are welcome to join us.
St. Joseph’s Chaplaincy Program
Our chaplaincy program at St. Joseph’s supports and facilitates daily prayer, community worship of the various liturgical seasons, teen alpha, charitable and social justice projects and events, restorative practices and activities, the needs of those who have loss or are grieving, and offers faith resources for curriculum and social justice projects. Mr. Van Putten also acts a liaison with local parish communities, members of the clergy, and the diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall. The chaplaincy program also seeks to bring a faith and spiritual dimension to contemporary issues, activities, and events within our school community. We are here to help provide opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, and individual pastoral support.
